Economics: First Day Activity- ZOO

Did every animal make it into your zoo? Why or why not?
Not every animal made it into the zoo, we had to make choices about which animals to have, as they take up acres.
Did you include a turkey or a cow in your zoo? Why or why not?
Joyce and I did not include a turkey or cow, as they are common farm animals, and don't really provide much of an interest based on how common they are.
Why didn’t you have a zoo with only monkeys?
-We didn’t have a zoo with only monkeys as it would only have one animal available for viewing. We want to include a variety of animals, in order to bring in more customers.
Which type of elephant did you choose? Why did you choose the type you did and not the other?
The type of elephants we chose were the Asian elephants, one male and one female. We chose this type of elephant as most zoos include the African elephant, and they exclude the Asian type. We are making the choice of giving visitors the opportunity to see this type of elephant, which is mostly excluded over its African counterpart.
What is the last animal to make the cut for your zoo?
The last animal to make the cut for our zoo were two kangaroos.
What is the animal that just missed the cut for your zoo?
The animal that just missed the cut for our zoo was another tiger.
Did your group agree to include the the same animals?
Our group did agree on the same animals, as well as the exclusion of the rest of the animals on the list of choices.
Would your partner in your group have made the same choices if they did it alone?
We wouldn’t of made the same choices, as we both had certain disagreements on which animals to include. After talking it out we were able to reach an agreement on which animals to use for the zoo.
